Decathlon’s Sun Protective Clothing

Looking to avoid sun burns while you’re out at the beach? You’ll need something, preferably something that blocks as much as possible of the harmful UV rays. One of the best ways for adults and children to do this is with a UV resistant top.

No one wants to be interrupted once they’ve started swimming or playing on the beach. With sunscreen you’ll need to keep stopping for a top up. That’s not to say sunscreen shouldn’t be used, it absolutely should! But if you’re going swimming the sunscreen won’t last as long as protective clothing. You chuck on a shirt, and if it fits, it works and you can go and have fun (without having to stop every hour or so for more sunscreen). Some of our clothing options include loops on the waist to help tie it into position too! This way it won’t rise in the water, burning you where you’d expect to be covered.

It’s also important to know how much protection you’re getting. When looking at protective clothing you’ll want to know what level Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) it is. All our UV resistant clothing is UPF 50+ meaning that it blocks at least 95% of UV rays. That also means that you’re protected for 50 times longer than without these clothes. We measure all our clothes resistances when they’re in use too, not just in the lab. This way it’s relevant for when they’re in use, not just when looking cool at the beach.

Finally, if we haven’t convinced you that our UV clothes are the way to go, they come with a 2 year warranty. So if they stop protecting you from the sun or if your new top wears out we’ve got you covered (in every sense!). It’s as easy as emailing us at contact.australia@decathlon.com and we’ll take it from there.

So really, if you’re looking for some good sun protection we’ve got what you’re looking for: more than 95% UV blockage, lasts longer and is tougher than sunscreen, and a quality guarantee! Keen for a swim in the sun? Why not check out our range?
